stopping my nephew picking any bits off the floor

Hi I found the behaviour topic really interesting I was wondering if anyone had any advice for me I would love to try stopping my nephew picking any bits off the floor and eating them, he has a chew buddy and when I see him getting bits I will wipe him and try giving him a toy or something else, any advise would be great thank you.
