Filling in PIP form for my 16 year old son who has autism and severe leaning difficulties. Has anyone in a similar situation been awarded the full 12 points for moving around based upon learning disability?

@raizer If your son is not physically disabled he won't score for moving around but he should get points for being unable to plan and go on a journey without someone with him. Presuming he doesn't go out alone that is. You will need to provide medical evidence of his Autism and LD if you haven't already done so..0

Hi @raizer:
Welcome and thanks for your post! We have a lot of Pip Related information on the site, which might be helpful.
These include a Benefits calculator, a PIP self test, Help filling in PIP forms, and a Benefits overview, as well as an Ask a Benefits Advisor section.
Of course, you'll also get great interaction from other Community members like @wildlife. So have a look through the PIP-related discussions in the Pip/DLA discussion section as well.
It's great to have you in the community.0 -
Hi I cannot physically follow any journeys without aid and someone with me? But no points0

@paulap123 From my experience and what others have said the physicality of walking and the mental health side of being unable to plan and follow a journey are treated separately. Because the former is already covered by another descriptor it is not a criteria for planning a journey. You should have scored points for your inability to move around but need to show you cannot mentally plan and follow a route of a journey for the descriptor being discussed here..0
