PIP Assement

I have my PIP Assessment on Friday. It's my 3rd one in 2 years. I am on enhanced fir both areas, but although I've gotten worse (I have fibromyalgia) I'm having a good week; now last week I slept all week. I'm extremely anxious about it, especially as it's a 1 1/2 hour drive to get to the centre, so I'll need a rest break on the way. I know I will speak the truth, but I'm so worried I'll lose it. (I'm falling asleep writing this.) I will need my wheelchair, but should I take my assistance dog in-training?
Does anyone have any advice please.

Hi @Ehit,
I'm sorry to hear that an upcoming PIP assessment is making you anxious. Have you had a look at the Personal Independence Payment section of our website? We have lots of useful information about the claims process including the following video about preparing for your assessment:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qq5QV_SnkJs
We also have a page with Frequently Asked Questions about the PIP process which might be of interest to you too.
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, then please do get in touch!0 -
Hi @Ehit,
I think the key is being in the know as to what to expect - if this is your third assessment in two years you have a head start in a way, but if these have not ended well for you then perhaps you are even more stressed than if you'd been to none!
The CAB have some really good information on what to expect, and do's and don'ts etc https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/sick-or-disabled-people-and-carers/pip/help-with-your-pip-claim/your-assessment/ there's not much I can add to this.
Good luck!
Kind regards,
Mary
