I am mother of three boys - all have autism to a differing degree. I lost my husband suddenly four years ago and sometimes feel very alone now so wanted to join this forum for friendship and support. Really struggling at the moment with my 20 year old son and could do with a respite break Any ideas would be helpful My son has a direct payment but his main carer cannot work the hours to give me a break of more than two nights and I find with train travel etc this isn't enough time to relax.

Hi @SarahJoanAnne,
Welcome to Scope's online community! It's great to have you here.
We have a page on respite care on our website with lots of information and links to other organisations who can help, which I hope will be useful to you.
I've also moved this post into our Parents and Carers category, where other members of the community can get in touch with their ideas.
I hope this helps. If you have any other questions, then please do get in touch!Liam
