    Hello Dave and welcome

I am so sorry that you find yourself in such a situation.
First thing to do is put your details into an online benefits calculator. there is one on this site. This wil give you an indication of any entitlements

If you are going to claim benefits it is important to understand how they work. please let us know if you need assustance with this or any other help we can give.

Hi @Dave55 welcome to the community, I am very sorry to hear about your wife and the cancer.

Have you been in touch with Macmillan, they have amazing resources and support.

I would also suggest you look at the benefits calculator to see what you could be entitled to.
