If my adult son moves in, will I lose my housing benefit?

@poppy123456 Hi sorry what I meant was that the loss of the premium ( a demotion of income) was due to the waiting time for the pip application to go through and be successful and I'm only applying for the day to day side of pip for my son as he struggles with that but is fully mobile no issues with mobility.0

The mobility part has two parts, following and planning a journey applies to those that have either mental health, cognitive or sensory impairments. He may qualify for this. It’s only the moving around part that applies to those that have physical issues. You need to make sure you fill in all parts of the form if they apply to him because they will look at everything, not just the daily living part.0

I'm going to but I know that like myself my son has trouble following a map yet when I was awarded pip this fact was ignored as long as my son can follow easy directions he may not qualify that's what happened with me so my main concern is the daily as the poor child can't even make a hot drink without my help0

Please take some time and have a read of this https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-assessment-guide-for-assessment-providers/pip-assessment-guide-part-2-the-assessment-criteria#daily-living-activities0

I have a similar problem. I receive UC. With that I receive the lcwra. I dont know about any premiums. I also receive CT and Housing benefits. Im still fighting an MR for PIP.
My disabled daughter is having to move back home. She receives PIP, both elements and UC. She is currently looking for part time work.
How will my benefits be affected?

@Rubie123 You said you’re claiming Universal Credit and then mentioned housing benefit. You would only be claiming housing benefit if you’re living in either supported or temporary housing. Otherwise your rent will be included with UC known as housing element. They are 2 completely different benefits with different criteria.
If you currently have a daily living award of PIP there will be no non dependent deductions which one you’re claiming.
If you don’t current have that award and it’s housing benefit you’re claiming and your daughter is under 25 with no earned income there’s no non dependent deductions. If she starts working there will be a non dependent deduction. How much that will be will depend on her earnings.
If it’s housing element of UC you’re claiming there will be no non dependent deductions because her PIP includes the daily living part.
To be clear there’s no disability premiums payable with UC.
If you’re currently living alone and claiming single person discount for Council Tax then you would lose that. You can look into claiming carers discount which is also 25%. For council tax reduction itself all local Authorities have their own rules so I can’t advise with that.
See links for information.

Hi Poppy thanks for the info. I still call it housing benefit because I'm from the dinosaur era. My rent is included in my UC. I live with my husband and my disabled son so no single person discount to be stopped. I receive a carers element in UC because both my son and I have disabilities. My daughter is 31.

There will be no deductions because she's claiming daily living PIP but you will still need to report the changes if she comes to live with you.
If there's a shortfall of rent then you maybe entitled to more housing element but it will depend on your circumstances.
Non-dependants exempt from deductions
A housing cost contribution is not deducted when the non-dependant is receiving one of the following payments:[19]
- daily living component of personal independence payment
- middle or high rate care component of disability living allowance
- attendance allowance
