Hi dantheman
I am new to the group and have Fibro., it has been a long road to get here but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Talk to people like me who have the condition, it can be a lonely road to go down, but I have good friends who I can talk to, not all the time but when I'm having a bad day I can contact and cry if I want to. I have just been told that I am going to be referred to pain management to help me cope with the condition, so ask you G.p if you can be referred to an organisation that can help you, often listening and talking helps.0 -

With GP's it's always about tablets. They don't know how to fix stuff really.

It has me hammered. Fibromyalgia. Medical discharge. Deemed at 100%
Flare ups. Medication does help .
However. It knocks me off my feet. Bed is the only answer.
This has also left me with anxiety & depression. Almost 20years from a professional person to this. Unable to do anything. Even thro I have a Masters degree.0 -
Hi just joined the group myself and glad to be able to chat about our illness ,The worse thing about it I find is it,s an invisible illness and talking to a doctor or anyone about it you get the feeling that they are not listening or don,t understand or questioning and doubting you inside there head .
I have suffered for years and knew I was not right ,Back and forth to the doctors at one point he said to me well what do you want me to do then .He even said to me at a further appointment that there is no way I would be sent to a rheumatologist from his surgery .
I went to see the other doctor at the surgery where he was more understanding and sent me to get tests to chronic fatigue specialists then onto a rheumatologist where i was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia ,Osteoarthritis .
It was like a weight had been lifted from my shoulders ,I left his surgery and left some harsh feedback for all to see but with treatment it is just bearable now and like most have said above it can go from one day a month feeling back to normal to feeling totally wiped out constant pain with all the symptoms thrown in at various stages or full on for weeks .0 -

Read up on it to get an insight into this chronic fatigue and pain syndrome. I was discharged from the military after 30 years service. I have it now 20 years.0
