Remaining politically neutral during General Election 2024

Under guidance from the Electoral Commission and Charity Commission, it's important that Scope remains politically neutral during General Elections.

While we understand that this period will see many passionate discussions and do not want to discourage open discussion, we cannot allow discussions which are purely intended to influence voting.

As ever, please make sure that your comments remain respectful of other people's opinions and keep to our online community house rules.

My nephew is 25 and severely disabled.
He is unable to communicate.
Currently he has no social worker and my sister is getting extremely distressed and is being given the run around by services who say that my nephew is too hard to manage for them. Help

Hello @rm63 and welcome to the community.

You might find it easier to get help if you call the Scope helpline 0808 800 3333 or email helpline@scope.org.uk they will be able to ask you more personal information and help to identify any local services who might be able to help your sister.

As an individual I stood alone.
