Discussion about Special needs

My 8year old has a sensory processing disorder and he has started asking me questions e.g.
Have I a special mind?
Do I have Special needs?
So I think he must be noticing some difference.
I don't know how to have this talk with him without him getting upset.
Just wondered if anyone has any ideas please.
