Using my mobility vehicle

After leasing my car from Motability in August 2017 my condition has worsened to the extent that because of increased pain I am finding it very uncomfortable now to change gear and use the pedals. In fact, I need to use 2 hands to go into reverse!

I suppose I should have anticipated this and ordered an automatic 7 months ago, but I had no idea I would deteriorate so quickly.

I didn't want to contact Motability in case there was even the slightest chance I might loose my car.
Does anyone know if there would be a chance that I could change my car for an automatic, (at this early stage), and / or if there would be a hefty charge to pay to do this?

With thanks
Lynda

    Hi again Steve,
The link you shared was very helpful! Thank you.
It still looks like I will need to contact Motability direct, but at least I now have a rough idea of the options I have - or not, as the case may be. Ha!
You have been very welcoming and helpful, and it's much appreciated.

Hi @LyndaMcK- as you say, it's a tricky one, and I'm sorry that I'm not more knowledgeable about this myself! Do let us know how you get on if you do choose to contact Motability, and if we can be of any assistance going forwards.

Because of your problem, and assuming you might not have the courage to call Mobility, i would suggest you call in and see your local CAB, Citizens Advice , and ask for professional advice  / assistance...
