    Hello @ianf, and welcome to the community. I am sorry we have not been able to respond sooner.
    You have had a laryngectomy?  I would like to know as a friend - and whether I am a friend or not is now entirely up to you - what caused the laryngectomy to be necessary, what its results are and how you are affected. I really look forward to getting to know you better.
    And I'll copy in this comment I frequently make to new members: 
    you have found a safe place here and are among friends, so please don't be shy of telling us about yourself or of asking any questions. The better we get to know each other, the easier we may find ways to be of use to you.
