I can see it being that! My brother went to University in Swansea and his campus was right on the beach :) Wasn't jealous at all!  :D

I found this today. I wrote it a while ago when I was feeling frustrated for my sister who was getting terrible service from her care company and a close friend whose depression and agoraphobia due to a minor disfigurement (to us) had made her housebound.

It kind of sums up my own woes at the moment. I don't know if I've stolen it from anybody else, it's entirely possible. I thought it was all mine at the time.

    Unimportant

Do not try to kid yourselves, there's no more 'staying up til twelve' s, you'll shop from just the middle shelves - if you're disabled.

You'll struggle filling in hard forms, you'll be insulted by the 'norms' and pay much more for keeping warm - cos you're disabled.

Be grateful for the Community Nurse and your carers who will make you curse and glibly tell you it could be much worse - than being disabled?

When disabilities make you depressed, the care system will be very stressed, you'll have to wait months to be assessed and prove you are disabled.

Later on you can increase your tension claiming on your Old Age Pension because it doesn't seem to help to mention you're disabled.

It might just help to change the mode by divorcing and moving down the road cos your help depends on your postcode when you're disabled.

So smile at all the ignorant masses who live their lives from their palliasses and lie through their teeth and lazy asses claiming they are disabled.

It's so unfair on those in need that they suffer so much from others' greed and the inactions of those who do not heed the cries of the disabled.

But there are tiny havens, where we can pretend we do not care, and the world does not have to be aware that we are disabled.

We can chat with our families and their kids, write to MPs and place auction bids, go shopping for soap and saucepan lids, keep a blog or make You Tube vids and escape from all the **** there is in being disabled.

I haven’t posted for a while, I hope everyone is doing ok. I thought I’d have a go at doing a highland cow in my own style obviously 🙄 hope they bring a smile to your face
I sent Highland coo Christmas cards last year. Your pictures would make lovely paintings or postcards!

Quick pic of my one of my first SFX attempts. :)

We don't have a shudder button. Those pictures quite unnerved me.

My humblest apologies for the asterisks that popped up in the poem, I did not think the word I used was offensive as I was allowed to use it when I was a child and other 4 letter words would have had me eating soap for a long time.
