    Last night's dream a plane was towing a trailer and a load of people fell out.
    That's what happens if you watch the war of the world's.  :)

    Hello @Victoriad You want to know male lead in War of the Worlds released in 1953 was first Gene Barry.  That was in colour.

    The radio broadcast was Orson Welles who started it all off.  Unknown to American public was a hoax.  That was late forties.

    The modern version up to date was with Tom Cruise around 2000 I believe.

    Day of the Triffids was a black and white film shown around 1962.

    Hello @Victoriad Understand got name wrong it is Howard  Keel and Jannette Scott not Scoot sorry fingers shaking to day.

    Anyway so there a few versions of the Day of the Triffids mini series lately.

    Best ones are the early ones War of the Worlds by Gene Barry and The 1962 version of the Day of the Triffids.

    Recent War of the Worlds too scary for me.

    Hello @Victoriad That was the triffids tall had like flowers on a stem then used that to attack people.  The stamens or buds something like that.

    Was that a dream then may I be so bold to ask.

    The film in black and white.....what was the name of the burly actor in the lead?

    If I recall it started off with news cast on the radio......sheer panic....then those aliens.

    Or is that The Triffids?

    The modern one with some eye candy in it. 
    Think it does start with robot things coming up from the earth.
