Hi
Looking for some tips to help my daughters anxiety.  She is 11 with an autism diagnosis, so will be going secondary school in Sept.
I use a selection of sensory toys to distract her when it is high.  I brought anti sickness bands for travelling which she really likes and wheres all the time.  She uses my phones to watch videos on you tube when were out and does not want to interact with anyone.  But she also needs me or someone from our immediate family near her as well.
My concerns are when she goes to secondary school, travelling there and back (I am putting in for transport but she does not have an EHC plan).
any advice appreciated, thank you.

Charlene

Hi @hartill77, hopefully our advisor will be in touch soon, but in the meantime you may be interested in this NAS guidance on understanding anxiety at school.

    Hi @hartill77

Can you speak to the school about this? It won't be the first time they have dealt with this and may be able to offer some support and guidance?

I spoke to the head teacher of her new school and she said the only children that get transport are the ones who are statemented. She didnt seem to think Chloe would need transport. The school is 3.1 miles away so we will appeal if refused.
