my husband had a stroke a year ago and lost the use of is left hand and he is left handed we got full mobility so got him a car it is an automatic with a lolly pop on and no peddles but because he can drive we have lost ten points it is the car which we have had three months which is keeping him going as he can now go to the gym and allotment with the stroke association and don’t know what it will do to him if they take it away as then he won’t go out and I work full time what can I do

    allie3180, hello and welcome to the community, you don't say when you where awarded full mobility or for how long. As I we read your question I looks as if you where awarded full mobility decided to have a mobility car then a short time later they have reduced your husbands award by 10 point to 2 thus denying your husband access to a fully paid mobility car is this correct?

    We waited a year to make sure he was ready to drive which was March this year and now reduced points

    @allie3108

    Have you asked DWP for a copy of assessor's report and are you going to ask for a mandatory reconsideration?

    This sounds like the standard question from the assessor - do you drive? Saying yes they regularly assume that he must have good judgement, has quick reactions, can process multiple scenarios, excellent vision and above all has good arm movement and use feet/foot and hands/hand.

    Be sure to stress how he uses the car and why.

    What is the point of doing that? It won't affect the descriptors awarded. What the poster has to do is explain that walking more than 20 metres is impossible on most days in the MR application.
