PIP allowance stopped during reassessment

I was awarded standard care and mobility allowance in March 2016 for 3 years but had to respond to a reassessment document after 2 years. The form was completed and included details of my worsening conditions and mental health evidence not before submitted. !0 weeks later the DWP informed me that my details had been passed to Capita who hoped to respond within a further 16 weeks. However my allowance has stopped even though the award letter states that it is valid until March 2019. Is this because  the new information demands a new assessment and can they do this ?

    Hi Ronaele,

They can't just stop your money if you are waiting to be assessed. The only way they can stop your money if you have failed to attend an assessment without good reason or sent your form back late.
If neither of these have happened and you have completed the form and are waiting for an assessment you should get onto PiP asap. Call 0800 1214433 and ask what's happened.
