My thoughts a couple of weeks ago. Quickly written but meant at the time.
In a time and a place
Where a life it can die
Your hopes and your dreams
Become just a lie
Giving up, giving in
Is the only way on
To forget and ignore
What is over and done
But what takes the place
Of the only thing left
When it's taken away
Not by reason, by theft
And so sitting alone
With the last hope all gone
Little left in the heart
That once held a song
Only memories remain
Of a life that went wrong
Is this all there is?
