Hi, I have a 24 year old daughter who has learning disabilities and is on the autistic spectrum. I am her appointee. She is receiving ESA and DLA, but wants to have a non dependent live with her in her privately rented home. Is the ruling still the same as 2017, that no changes will be made apart from the £61 severe disability allowance for living alone? It is good to know I can now come and ask the community if I have problems, instead of feeling alone in the most complicated world of benefits!. Thank you all for reading/responding to this query.

Hello @amara5204 Pleased to meet you welcome.
Thank you for sharing. I understand and know the benefit system is complex and confusing. I would and can I suggest a member of our team or community will advise in time.
I also say contact CAB your local office has a wealth of benefit advice and information.
Have look at our advice on Housing and Independent living for information and our benefit advice Talk about PIP and DLA. Also the posts of ESA and employment issues and finance.. Includes comments from people with similar stories of your own. Add to that please have a look around the forum. Talk about Specific Condition may be of use to you . Has lots of posts on various conditions and disabilities.
Hope that helps.
Please take care.
