PIP forms filled in sent back 17/7. DWP says not received.

Hi Everyone.

New to all this, I have  Menieres Disease, possible Lupus, and other Auto Immune, ongoing hearing losses, bilateral hearing aids and anxiety and depression, and balance issues, applied for PIP and received forms 16/7/18 and posted off 17/7 securely tracked and signed for there on 18/7/18. I assumed being processed all this time, now 2/8/18.

Wrong! Today I received a letter saying they haventh received anything? And I have until the 6/8/18,  So I rang, explained and they have received it,  tracked it did arrive 18/7/18.

Now an investigation has been opened by DWP. Could take a further 4 weeks,  I also explained I took photographs before sending forms back, with photocopied supporting documents. I could not  afford to photocopy whole form as reams of it and Rymans isn't that cheap! But did take photos on phone of everything sent and forms completed, prior to posting.

Today I received a letter saying not received anything, so I rang, explained, they  tracked my Post Office reference, and  investigated and now realised I have sent it and it was signed their end, on 18/7/18, but they cannot find it!

SO an investigation started, in the meantime  a new form pack, being sent today, and given a date extension incase it is not found!

Apparently new forms should arrive within two weeks! What a waste of time, energy and stress! Glad I sent it tracked! She said had I of just sent it in their prepaid envelope, there probably wouldn't of been a problem, I mentioned I didnt want it getting lost on route

Oh how ironic! Will keep you posted. Excuse ramble.

DWP have a habit of  ' losing'  paperwork in transit.  When I did my ESA form in April I scanned the whole thing into the computer as it had taken me  a couple of weeks to fill in piecemeal when I had the concentration and energy.

Thanks everyone for your replies. X

DWP said to wait until the second PIP pack arrives, then to ring them back before I reapply "incase" they have found my first application.

I said I have screen shots of the signature - well initials ( D.T) And name underneath. ( Dinky) and time it was signed for via Royal mail tracking. I explained how I struggled to fill in the previous one and costs for copies and tracking, but due to my anxiety levels, it was peace of mind that it would "indeed arrive safely and quickly"

I asked them to put everything in hard copy that they had received and signed for my first PIP on 18/7/18 but they said they couldn't do that! But had written notes.

The next person I spoke to I asked her to read out notes they previous staff member made so in my mind it would be "voiced audibly"  out loud.

As they stated all calls are recorded as evidence, for both parties.

I do know, I  over think things currently with depression and anxiety on top of other symptoms, which doesn't help. I wind myself up. Nothing however ever seems ruddy simple! ImI so tired of fighting my corner. X

Hanging in there. X thanks for support everyone. P x

She was very nice and told me she wasnt there to judge,
Straight away she asked to use the loo so i was thinking , here we go .. but no she was lovely and even said she wouldnt ask me to do any movements that would hurt and it wouldnt go against me at all , i said id be worried if i refused todo any movements and she said noo please dont be it really is ok ,

Good luck. Decision times, vary depending on backlog in your area. It can be anything between 2-8 weeks sometimes longer. You can ring DWP beginning of next week and ask for a copy of the assessment report, this will give you some idea what the decision is likely to be as they mostly go with the report.

@chiz - Hi, that all sounds positive, and a nice assessment by all accounts, from what I have read elsewhere!

Yup mine is on Friday. 9 am. Few junctions away.

Tony is dropping me outside the door, if he can't  get the day off. As I haven't driven since February 2017.

As mentioned I've received my Menieres Disease official diagnosis at the hospital after 5 hours of testing in Neurology, last week, but only verbal, I did mention to the specialist consultant, was there any way they could give me any hard copies as my assessment due on the 21st, but they said they couldn't get any paperwork to me in time. Shame that may have helped my case.

I have other documented issues, and other letters re Menieres Disease and Auto immune from my last hospital visit to an ENT so hopefully, that will explain a few things.

I have 19 months of various appointments and paper trails, a folder full so hoping some of it helps. Although I have read they don't  always look at cases beforehand?

Some of the assessments, make horrendous reading on here, but I will just be myself and say it as it all affects me, day to day.

So glad your assessment went ok and thanks for letting us know. Will update once been on Friday. XX

@Mumof2ds my husband asked did they look at all supporting evidence and she said regardless of any horror stories , we all have to read and document every single piece of evidence you send,
She even said all there work is audited regular so no short cuts can be taken , she even read some letters i received over the weekend referring my daughter to young carers activities ,  it was nothing like i expected ,  she had a cuppa made by hubby and chatted about other things in between it was all relaxed , she was dressed down rather official looking , which helped me relax loads (dont know why) ?
Im not going say dont worry because we all do ,
I just hope when the report comes back she was all false ?.
Either way i felt comfortable which i was pleased with.
    Xx
