New guy next door seem shady. Should I investigate?

A new guy just moved in our apartment complex about two or three weeks ago. Everything was fine at first. Didn’t make that much noise, keeps the hallway clear, etc. Then, a week ago things started to change. Some girls would come up to his place until like wee hours of the night. At first I was like wow this guy must be a charmer but I found it really weird for groups of ladies to come up frequently. Like in the morning about five girls would go in then another batch on the afternoon...you get the picture. I was able to gather a bit of information from the lobby. Apparently the guy’s running a foreign marriage agency of some sort. My gut says otherwise though. I have a feeling he’s running like a cyber den or something. Should I trust my gut and investigate further? It’s really bothering me to live beside him.

I’m no expert but if it was me I would simply ask him first, but only if I felt it was safe to do so of course. Sometimes all dodgy people need is to be questioned and it scares them enough to get packing, and if it’s harmless (it’s unlikely but still possible) you might get an explanation.

I've thought about coming up to him and asking him directly but I don't feel as though we're close enough for me to do that. It would seem offensive in his POV. But maybe I can try talking to him whenever the opportunity arises and start a asking him slowly. Thanks!

Personally I would be reluctant to directly inquire whats going on. If there are illegal activities it is unlikely that they are going to confess that to you and change their ways. However, inquiring about  this chaps business could potentially make you the target of his anger if he does have something to hide. If you have a concern about vulnerable people potentially being exploited (prostitution? human trafficking?) there are ways of raising your concerns with the police whilst keeping yourself safe:  https://www.police.uk/information-and-advice/reporting-crime/#non-emergency

Absolutely report the comings and goings, I’d definitely not ask him anything about it
