I'm currently up to the max pain killers to reduce the pain i have in my knee's, i have been through the doctors then the physio's which two said i have different problems number one being osteoarthritis and the other saying i have patella formal pain syndrome and i have been waiting 5 months now for an appointment to have a key hole surgery to have a look inside my knee's as to whats going on. Have i had any luck? have i hell. I applied for PIP and a blue badge and they both said no and on the reasons they had lied!! i'm at my wits end with this now

Hi @Ashbash1984, persist with your referrals and keep bugging the doctor and benefits. I have chronic pain in both knees and have been born without space for my knee caps. Took me 9 months for diagnosis and a year to be referred to the appropriate specialist. Is there a charity that can help you sort out benefits? Can help to have some external support. Best wishes and stay strong in spirit

Have you been to OT? They may have stuff you can have about the house that can help until op. You can self refer if the doctor hasn't for you

Thank you for your reply. I just wish this pain and problem be gone! This started two years ago and has gotten worse and just a seems like I’m getting nowhere anytime soon ☹️ The doctors cannot refer me to pain clinic because they don’t know what the problem is. Right now I am taking 8 codiene/paracetamol a day, 3 Diclofenac 50mg a day, 900mg of gabapentin 4 times a day, 50mg patch of fentanyl and 10mg of oral morphine ever four hours and I’m still in pain. I feel like getting a saw and hacking my legs off ?

You are welcome, I know all about the struggles of knee pain! Push them to find out what's going on. What have and do we pay national insurance for? To help people who are sick and suffering. Doctors seems like nowadays want to make you feel like you're the the problem and shirk you off. Don't let them. It's not a sufficient response or situation for you to struggle with pain BC they don't know what's going on. You're clearly suffering a great deal and they need to get to the bottom of it.

You need a diagnosis from orthopedics not physio. Physios will fob you off to no end because they see the problem as something they can correct as physiotherapists. Not their fault, it's the way it is. Get seeing orthopedics make sure you see a consultant and if you want surgery and they suggest it is the best step forward go for it.

Hi, I’m waiting for a first appointment at the hospital to see the orthopaedics and it’s been 5 months already! The NHS is not what it used to be! I just want answers and to sort this pain out ☹️
