How long before I get the backpay?

Hello. I was recently placed in the support group for esa. I also claimed sdp and got a letter about 5 days ago showing a new rate of esa with the sdp added on and it also mentioned that i was owed money from I assume backpay.

I have still not got the backpay so i called esa today to be told I should have been paid the backpay last friday. The lady on the phone said for some reason it had been issued to me but not paid. She said she would email the jobcentre in Birkenhead and to wait for a phonecall from them.

Does anyone know generally when I am likely to see the backpay in my account? I am due to be paid next wednesday and was wondering if it would just go in with my normal esa payment or could it be anytime up until then?

Most likely go in with your next ESA payment if not ring DWP to ask what’s going on

I'm not sure why the DWP would email the job centre about your SDP backpay. That really doesn't make any sense. Back pay is usually paid separately to normal payments. I would ring DWP again tomorrow and ask why you're going to receive it because i don't think the last person you spoke to knew what they were talking about.
I would appreciate it if members wouldn't tag me please. I have all notifcations turned off and wouldn't want a member thinking i'm being rude by not replying.
If i see a question that i know the answer to i will try my best to help.
