Alcohol helps (never drink at home country as I know I'll become too reliant on it to solve my problems and family had alcohol problems and lost multiple family to alcohol). Also since I have pancreatitis I don't think I can even drink any more anyways?
No you should not drink alcohol or smoke.
Mind you I understand your comment about drinking.
I hit the cider when they closed down the mental health day service leaving us all nowhere to go for help. An enormous amount of cider a day topped up with whisky in the evening all on top of a cocktail of anti depressants and anti psychotics. I was singing with the angels for a couple of years until the pancreas decided to give up big time!Mines is caused by Gallstones and is only Acute (I think?? Not sure - I'm on creon for life and ever since I was started on Creon that was my longest stays out of hospital (1-2+ months), before that my longest stay away from hospital over a 3 month period was about 4 days, sometimes I was getting out of hospital and ending up back in that night lol.Pancreatitis is a **** ain't it? Gallstones was easy peasy for me (but the pain was very severe in the moment too), I took cocodamol and walked it off. Pancreatitis was a complete other level, not even morphine helped sometimes and my cocodamol was upgraded to 100mg tramadol by a pain specialist even that didn't help and I still ended up in hospital. Absolutely crippling. It's 100% not alcohol related for me. No attacks for a few weeks since I had my gallbladder removed, tho I do get some random spurts of pain - not sure if thats a result of the surgery or pancreatitis (some of my pancreas is necrotized). However GP said I was to continue taking Creon and can't be certain if I'll still get pain, so I dunno if it is Acute or if it developed to Chronic ?See my anxiety helped a lot here, it kicked in big time when I was quite young so I never got to the age of having mates and going to the pub and doing god knows what drugs and drinking an ungodly amount of alcohol. My anxiety kept me away from all that which I think is a good thing. Although it can be a godsend at times lol
