Media opportunity: pressure on council budgets
ITN (national news) is currently working on a piece looking at the impact of pressure on council budgets. It’s part of a series for the BBC six and ten o’clock news, and research will be taking place next week.
The council has recently proposed a fresh set of savings, including a reduction in carers for disabled adults and moving people from residential care homes into supported flats. We're looking for a storyteller in the North Yorkshire area who might be directly affected by these proposals. You would be invited to talk about how changes and cutbacks to services provided by the council (care being the main one) have affected adults with disabilities and elderly people, and about what it might mean for you.
