Hi, I'm having a PIP home assessment in 2 days , I didn't request a home one just got told I'm having one. Sent my forms back start of July have got worse since then and am finally getting assessed mid December. First assessment was last year in a centre but have deteriorated a lot. lm currently just getting standard mobility rate no independence benefit. I am so worried about it and that I won't be able to sit for 2 hours due to pain and just don't know what to expect really and that I won't be able to answer the question properly and if they get you to do tasks around the home I'm going to try and do them then pay for it later etc. Are they generally kind ? Does anyone have experience of having a PIP home assessment to let me know what I can expect ? Many thanks in advance .

Hi Ellen, thank you so much for your response . I had mine yesterday and was surprised at how quick it was and like you she didn't ask me to do any tasks apart from bend forwards in sitting to touch toes which I failed badly. She didn't ask very many questions which surprised me but then I suppose or hope they have read the paper work before and beleive you. I already have the mobility component but was hoping to get some independent payment as I am finding things so difficult now. Somehow I feel that I won't be successful mainly due to the lack of questions asked . I felt she covered very little. I will just have to wait 6-8 weeks now to see. I'm not getting my hopes up. Just hope I keep the mobility.
Oh yes she told me they have shut several centres so are doing more home visits hence the back log in waiting time for assessments ( mine was 5 months ) !!0
