Hi everyone, I'm a carer for my dad who has MS. I love my dad hugely but sometimes it can be hard. We love pottering in the garden and being by the beach. Friends don't seem to understand my life anymore and are quick to walk away. Luckily I have my dog so not too lonely xx

    Hi @DibleyDancer

       “Good Afternoon”

It’s great to meet you today ????

    That’s a great post, what a star ???
    you are.

Yes unfortunately you do find your “friends” become “far & between” when something of this nature happens.

Unfortunatley I have got the “T-shirt” as well.

You have come to the right place for any “help & advice/support”

    Thanks Steve .
As I said it's scary how quickly they walk away. If you don't understand just ask. My dad has had MS all my life so it's nothing new to them. The only thing that has changed is my priority. It's not going out the pub every night  it's spending time with my dad and helping him as he has done with me growing up. So sad to find out a friend is so self centred and can't cope when life isn't about them.
    Sorry rant over xxx

    Hi @DibleyDancer

No Probs it’s my Pleasure ??

Yes it’s a real shame when you find that your only friends ??are your family!!!!!

Yes we had our daughter 12mnts following my “Stroke”

Not bad as it was another “Tick” on my “List” after being told by the “Expert’s”

“No No No No No No”

My daughter has missed out on my full involvement in her life.

But I have never worried about it as she always knows “when & why”

So please please don’t worry for one minute as “life is to short to worry”

    Hi @DibleyDancer

    Welcome to the community.

Sorry to hear about your friends, most do not understand unless they have been through it. Have you tried your local carers centre or have a chat with other carers online.

I am happy to hear you have found some hobbies you enjoy with your dad.
Love that you have you dog too :)
