Hi, my daughter is 20 and has Tourette's, severe anxiety and is also on a waiting list for a diagnostic autism test. I am her carer and have been since she was first diagnosed. Her tics have become worse, but been given meds. She has now been put forward for a referral for an assessment with social services to see if they can access more help for her...I can't tell my daughter my worries for her but I want to know how she can become semi independent when she is having so many issues? Will she need sheltered housing, if she becomes pregnant will the baby inherit her condition, will she be able to drive and which employers are disability friendly? Yesterday was too much as she had severe tics, and hurt herself in the process...I've had to leave work early today as I feel so stressed ? Any help would be great, thanks guys ?

Your social worker should be able to answer these questions and she could always go into supported living, which again your siciso worker can help you with that xx1

Welcome to the community, @fuzzy1970!
I'm so sorry to hear you're feeling stressed. It sounds like a challenging time for you all, but you're among others who understand here. The social workers and doctors your daughter sees may be best placed to answer specific questions about her condition, but as Richard says, Tourettes Action are great too:Housing
Unfortunately, some people with TS have difficulties with their housing situation. We have put together details of some potential housing issues that people with TS could face, and how you might look to resolve them.
The guide also contains organisations to contact with housing queries. Please note that Tourettes Action does not specialise in housing policy and is unable to assist with individuals’ housing cases. We suggest you contact the organisations listed in this document for advice.
