Hello everyone, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has said hello to me.  I sorry I haven't been online for a while but I suffer with fybromyalgia (Chronic pain, hidden illness), so even though I work full time when I am going through a flare up I push myself to go to work then when I get home I have to go straight to bed to rest.  I also suffer with IBS and asthma. I only have 19 months to go to retire and I am really hoping that I can actually last that long at work as I live on my own so my finances are really tight sometime.  I have never claimed any benefits for my illness but as I am getting older and my illnesses are getting worse I would like to know if I would be eligible for a Blue Badge for my car.

I hope everyone else is keeping alright.

There are two routes to obtaining a BB.
BB's are issued by your local council and you can apply directly to them, each has their own criteria and assessment requirements.
As  you seem to have some mobility issues you might consider whether applying for a PIP award is something to think about. Once you reach SRA then PIP is unavailable to you, the only benefit then would be AA which has no mobility element

    SRA is State Retirement Age.
If you have a PIP award then it will continue while you meet the criteria.
Sorry if I did not make it clear, you cannot  make a new application for PIP after reaching SRA
