Hi Im new here and fairly new to a diagnosed condition.
Worked all my life (27 years)
Diagnosed with Adult ADHD , Severe Anxiety and Bi-Polar tendencies in 2016.
After literally a whole lifetime of utter CHAOS I am starting to learn how to cope and understand myself.
Under a local Doctor and Specialist NHS very supportive
Have special controlled medication.
Yes just had my PIP refusal letter 0 points.
Cant face reading it again atm but never read such a discriminating letter in all my life.
Full of lies and misinformed information.
Just about to resign ill health been off work 7 months.
Taking my company to Tribunal for Disability Discrimination as they wont cut my daily hours to a 9 hour shift to enable me to control medication etc.
It would be nice after paying into the system for over 25 years to get some support but NO ONE is interested in mental health.
Its disgusting.
So Im going to appeal it and ask for the report and then formally complain to the joke of a company our government employ to put people in need through this.
Any thing else I should be doing?
My heart sincerely goes out to anyone in a similar situation.
Thanks In Advance.
I have been awarded new style esa which is something but have their hoops to jump through also.

Hello @sweatyduck Pleased to meet you welcome.
Sorry to hear what has happened.
I am one of the team of community champions. We guide, advise and help new members who join the forum.
Please can I suggest that you appeal the decision . We have appeal information on our website. You will need to do a Mandatory Reconsideration.
There is a lot of advice and information on our website .
Please can I also suggest further you speak to CAB. They have a wealth of knowledge and expertise.
I can identify what you are going through. I myself have mental health issues. I would consider speaking to some one who can help you through this.
You mention NHS specialist support. Is that the team who are supporting you.?
I do understand you concerns about mental health. As my own personal experiences. You are not alone to give you some reassurance.
We are here as a community to be supportive. If I can help with anything please ask.
There will be some one in our community or a member of our team who will know.
This is I know a stressful time..
Please take care.

My friend we hear so many people going what your going through. Many believe the report from the assessment is about someone else NOT about you.
The lies or as I call it bend the truth in their favour and not yours. The lies at times are so blatant to say the least.
I suffer with MH and physical disability's too, I have tried taking my life on a few occasions because of the pressure of life and this disgusting government at the moment I'm sorted, but it's a matter of time it all starts again and I wi
ll be a mess again know doubt.
Many times these assessments are failing people day in day out, and this Tory government are doing jack to resolve these ongoing problems.
This government are just out to deny people of what their entitled too.
Just appeal this decision and the chances will be a lot higher in your favour.
Good luck.2 -
That sounds horrific and Im so sorry your being put through it, I have a friend with MS going through it as well he is a grown man in absolute pieces much to how you describe.
The only thing that keeps me fighting the current Tribunal (work matter) is I learned very early in life not to back down to bullies and lets face it that is what they are except bullies seem to have more direction.
Im just going to make as much noise as possible and not be scared by all their hoop jumping there making my blood boil now! your fault Anyway let me know how your tribunal goes and yes definite holiday called for.0 -

Hello @sweatyduck Please can I suggest from reading your post. That I would advise get plenty of help and support doing anything connected with either MR and Tribunals.
I do understand the difficulties the stress. I have been there so many times.
One suggestion I would advise and consider is to look at Mental health charities. These are often useful for many various reasons.
What I have learnt is from a life time of mental health is it great to use NHS services or Council services. Often the big problems stem from lack of resources.
Being staff over whelmed underfunded programmes of treatment. There are some amazing, wonderful staff who work in these conditions. Much of the time is spent trying to cope with a system which is falling to pieces.
In my own experiences given limited time. Waited six months for CPN which eventually did come but gave me a walk over. After refusing and also not adhering to their demands.
Something else I learnt if they ask you to jump you do it. Other wise get shot of you. You are removed a letter sent and onto the next one. and move on. Sorry but it is true.
One council service offered me eight weeks reduced to six. Not ideal.
So I needed to find alternatives. I am responsible. For my wellbeing, health. I need to help myself.
I started using mental health charities.
Used many. Last one two years a go.
https://www.richmondfellowship.org.uk.
Might not be in all areas. Got help with my mental health, my benefit situation, wellbeing some guidance, advice.
Had help with forms, assessments. Often attending . Put a report into any forms I had to send.
Do take clientele with additional disabilities and conditions.
You entitled to good mental health every one is.
Hope that gives you a lot of reassurance. May I add have had many assessments some good some bad. I focus on the positive outcomes.
Please may I advise that is what you need to do. Understand how difficult that may be Trust me. Walked a mile in your shoes.
I go way back to the early eighties claiming benefits. I am strong resilient and motivated to fight every step of the way. What ever is going to happen to me.
What has many times. Including losing my car my lifeline but am here and struggle strive but have my faith. Cope every day and be supportive of others.
Have mutual respect for every one of our members.
I am truly sorry what has happened when some one lies about you. You feel emotional feel wronged and have to cope with no one believing you.
Please can I advise further contact your MP. They need to know what is happening to our community.
Please keep in touch. Anytime you wish to.
Please take care.

Hi @sweatyduck, I'm sorry to hear the assessor gave you zero points for your PIP assessment.
It sounds like you have all the right steps to get the appeal. Remember you have a month to write a letter to requested a Mandatory reconsideration. Here is a Scope guide on how to appeal a DWP decision which you may find useful.
If you need anything else the please do not hesitate to get in touch0
