Did you know that.....the speed of light is finite, it has an upper speed, this leads to some interesting facts. 
Everything that your eye sees is in the past? Due to the time it takes for the source of light to reach your eyes.  The moon is 3 light seconds away,  so you see the moon as it was 3 seconds ago.....the sun as it was 8 mins ago, jupiter as it was half an hour ago.....our suns nearest neighbour proxima centari.....as it was 4 years ago.....the Andromeda galaxy our nearest galactic neighbour as it was 2M years ago....the furthest objects our telescopes can see .............the light from these objects left their source 13B years ago.....well before solar system was born........

I have always found this fascinating. And also turning it around, if an intelligent race say 2,000 light years away was looking at Earth and had a powerful enough telescope at this very moment, they would see Romans going about their business.

So true........but did you know that .......we have had radio and tv broadcasts now for over 60 years.....so if ET lived on a planet say over 60 light years away from earth  our planet would now be glowing in the electro magnetic spectrum ......radio waves......and would be hearing sounds from the Ali Pally broadcasts.

Did you know that.......super glue was invented during the Nam war as a surgical aid? We now use it to stick things together, but it was used firstly by medics to stick together deep cuts. Thats why when you use it it sticks your fingers together rather than the object requiring being glued.
