Well done Chloe!! You certainly told it like it is in a very calm and sensible way.
Having eggs thrown at you is absolutely disgusting.
I suffered a similar incident some years ago, but never got a chance to report it.
Our car had broken down on a busy motorway and as I sat in my wheelchair, with a nervous poodle on my knee, a car passed at high speed and threw a can of Red Bull at me, which hit the chair. I wouldnt have minded, but it was empty!
No, joking aside, it was a cruel and stupid thing to do. These idiots think they are so clever!3 -
Missed it yesterday but just watched the video, you were really good on there @Chloe_Scope !!
It's not something I've experienced personally as I don't 'look' disabled. And I must admit, I didn't even know it still happened for something as common as a wheelchair! I just don't understand how people can think you experience their comments/actions any differently sitting down than standing up! Or maybe they just don't think like that?
I am surprised that anyone thinks it's acceptable to treat other people like that for a disability, as well as race or sexuality etc, it's nothing to do with them at all!!

Thank you very much guys. @pollyanna1052 I am sorry to hear you have experienced similar things. I think this really is why it needs to be looked at more.
Thank you for your kind words @OverlyAnxious, a very good point!

Hello @Chloe_Scope Thought you were amazing. Calm and serene put your points across most elegantly.
As one who has suffered many forms of abuse. I agree with every thing you have been saying.
I hope and wish that the people who hurt and harm me could walk a mile in my shoes.
All I know is do consider that those who hurt and harm have to be thinking is this may be going to happen to me.
If they ever got disabled or is that wishful thinking.?
Do believe in Karma the Avenging Angel.
As a Christian find it hard to forgive do pray for those that cause a lot of problems for me.
All I can add is you have hopefully have sent a strong message .
Also that SCOPE is always supporting the important issues.
Take care and best wishes the weekend.

Hi @Chloe_Scope Thank you for showing the above link as I was looking for it on iPlayer too. You gave an excellent interview, 'tho I was shocked about what you said had happened to you. And also reading above about @pollyanna1052 & @thespiceman. So, thank you Chloe for raising awareness about this; obviously needed.

Hello @chiarieds Thank you for mentioning me. Much appreciated. I have to add is does go on from the most unlikely of people in our society.
You think they would not hurt or harm you but after experiencing a lot of issues and problems.
In either the work place . I worked as a Civil Servant. Worst place ever for hate crime, disability discrimination and intimidation, bullying.
Also from certain members of certain professions who obviously has never experienced or met a disabled gentleman before
Still consider that I am of a part of society or a community they do not wish to be identified with.
Yet they do may consider in there own mind doing fund raising . Because it this making them be part of a group or who knows.
Make them feel good. As one former colleague if you can call him that who used language and was verbal constantly it is your special day tomorrow.
Usually the one called Children In Need.
When that is over then it may start again the language, the intimidation the bullying. I am always amazed at this and realise how the mind of some people work.
I also did fund raising for various charities and organisations. Over a long period.
I had stop tin collecting a long time ago for fears, insecurities my safety.
I have been spat on, wrestled to the ground, punched in the face, glasses broke, stamped on.
Kicked and assaulted after many years had enough. One reason doing volunteering here and did a lot of other volunteering other places.
What upset me was no one came to my assistance.
Sorry have to tell you this but this I need to share.
Thank you for reading.

Thank you for sharing @thespiceman ; we all have a need to share, 'tho I'm truly saddened to read about what you've suffered. Mans inhumanity to man still going on & in ways I would never have expected. Those people probably considered themselves respectable too as they gave to charities. Respect is earned 'tho, & you have already have mine, if it's not presumptuous of me to say.You seem to have the utmost patience for those needing help here, & write in a way I can only describe as 'gentle' creating a safe atmosphere around your positive & encouraging words. You're the one who truly does good.IMHO there's no way to understand why people might behave this way. I don't know what else to say other than your words have touched me....3
