Looking for work with a disability friendly employer
I's like to introduce myself as Laura. I have a learning disability which is autism and aspergous. I am looking for work with a disability friendly employer and am after some advice. My career path is catering/kitchen work but there doesn't seem to be that many disability friendly employers where I live. This is causing me huge barriers as I struggle to stay in a job for any length of time. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for welcoming me. It's good to know that there are people out there who can help me and I appreciate the support. I turned to Scope as I wanted to see what help and support I could get from here. I want to work as I believe in working instead of just living off benefits all the time. I am employable but just need the right job to come along for me.1

You have been given very good advice and information by @Connie00 so I have nothing much to add, other than to wish you well in finding a job in the kitchen/catering trade. Hello @Laura220 welcome to the community.0

Thanks everyone for welcoming me. I am aware of Remploy and have been on GOV.UK to look at a list of disability friendly employers. I have support from the job centre and from a work coach called Kayleigh who specializes in finding people work. I am very encouraged so far and have more support this week. I appreciate it's not easy finding a job especially at Christmas when a lot of places will be very busy. I'm still looking for jobs as a kitchen porter/assistant as this is what I have experience in and given the right workplace I can and have succeeded in the past.0
