I think you are miss judging me here because i never said we weren't all equal. I'm disabled myself and so is my daughter.I don't make the benefit rules, i'm just here to give the advice and my advice here is correct. Please read the link i provided above about renting to family members, it may not be possible. Here's the link i posted above about renting to family members. https://england.shelter.org.uk/housing_advice/benefits/housing_benefit_renting_from_family

He is currently awaiting a care package for 24 hour care. 2/1 mostly... To be set in place for when I leave.. They will be doing waking nights.. I. Just need to know who I can speak too..?? I know its viable as other parents have done this in my Area but they are struggling with their own problems to help me.... Iv asked around and no one seems to have the way to go about it... Its very confusing... To me... Thanks for all your in put.0

You haven't said if he will need help with the rent here. If he will then put your postcode into this link and it will tell you what's local to you for face to face advice. https://advicelocal.uk/ when you've put your postcode in drop the next box down to welfare benefits.

BlessThank you for your very kind words they are very much appreciated. I'm here to help others and have helped thousands of people but sadly sometimes, helping someone on an internet forum can be extremely difficult and this situation is one of them.If the son needs to claim for help with the rent then mum/dad really do need to get some face to face advice. It maybe that only a decision maker at DWP can decide whether to award any help for housing element.0

Thank you for your advice.. Its a Minefield as no one actually knows the answers. Its a complicated case.. And finding the right person to ask is difficult.... Ost have said its easier if he goes into a private landlord. But I want him to stay In his own home... But can't afford to not get rent for it... To help me pay my own rent with my new husband....0

The question they will ask is if you will evict him if he doesn't pay the rent because it has to be on a commercial basis. It's extremely complicated when renting to family members. I totally understand where you're coming from and wanting him to stay in his own home.

They may not even be able to give you a definite yes or no and potentially the only person that can is a decision maker from DWP.

Hello @Cammysmum Pleased to meet you.
I would contact Shelter a lot on the website about renting and the legalities.
https://www.shelter.org.uk.
When you go on to the website scroll to Housing advice and asks for England, Scotland or Wales, Northern Ireland..
@poppy123456 my friend has given you a lot of advice and guidance.
Please take care.
