I have autism which makes me sensitive to sound. I live in a new build flat which has poor sound insulation, the main issue being slamming doors making me jump out of my skin many times a day, from neighbours above, below, and next to me.
Would I be able to apply for a DFG to get just my bedroom sound insulated? I currently cannot sleep in there, as it’s also next to the public stairwell, and I have to spend a few nights a week at my moms, as the constant being on the edge and stress keeps making me have meltdowns.
Or is the DFG only for physical disabilities?

HI and welcome,It's unlikely that you will get a DFG for this but there's certainly no harm in trying. The first step to this will be to refer yourself for a needs assessment from your local council social services. https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/social-care-and-support-guide/help-from-social-services-and-charities/getting-a-needs-assessment/

            Hi @chrismith
Speak to your local council, as grants are administrated at that level.
You might have to seek the permission of landlord or leaseholder.
Take a look on YouTube “how to soundproof a room”, if you know any decent DIYers, it looks easy.
My son just insulated my daughter’s bathroom from inside, if that makes sense.
Its the same principle as soundproofing.
