We just found out the scheme where the government pays 80% of wages only applies to people who were in their job before March 1st. A family member started their job on 13th March, so still well before the “lockdown” as people are calling it, but they are not eligible. This is through no fault of theirs - if they knew this was going to happen they would have kept their previous job.No idea how bills will be paid etc.The government said no one should lose out financially because of the corona virus, well that seems like nonsense.

Ah yes that's not good then. My oldest is not sure if he is going to be paid. Which will be a big problem for us.
It's all the uncertainty that makes this so much harder. I did get a hold put on our council tax until May as its went up to £145 a month from £115.
Sent over 3 hours on hold to universal credit then it just cut off. Was so annoyed.
Nothing is simple atm.
They should ask CAB for some advice if can get through to them.
