I was awarded five yes ago Standard PIP. A few weeks ago got called into review. Two Y's ago my back became more painful and slowly made walking and standing unbearable. I was going to get a wheel chair with the mobility section of PIP which I was certain would be awarded.
A lovely understanding assessment person I saw and left heard.
The report reader said NO. I use a crutch to steady myself. I do not go out other then to my G.P. The said no.
Appeal requested and now we have a virus.
So I am at home with asperger 30 yr old and my son left his supported living flat when P M locked down .He has cerebral palsy and learning difficulties.
We have many pets which my autistic son see as friends. I am ser ching on line for supplies for three adults and much pet food.
I "helped" my son out financially before this hit and now overdrawn..
I felt mentally challenged at Christmas when son was section. It's been one kick in the teeth after the other.
When will my needs be recognised. ?
I know this is complaining and nothing will come of it so why do I bother.
Hope you all stay well and safe.

Hi @Deejustneeds1, sorry to hear about your PIP assessment and your current situation due to COVID-19.
Have you been able to get essentials?
I know some pet shops are offering delivery for pet supplies, is might be worth contacting places locally to you.
Here is some information about accessible food and essentials.
Please do let us know how you get on and if there is anything else that we can do to help.0 -
Hi @Deejustneeds1 - how are you getting along? I hope you found @Chloe_Scope information helpful? How have things been so far this week?0

Your GP can refer you for a wheelchair assessment. Not sure if you get a chair for free but i only just found out about this after several years of also waiting for PIP so i could buy myself a chair (i didn'tget the mobility part of PIP so won't be able to use motability).

Hi @Deejustneeds1 I know argos has pet food and pet essentials and they do delivery's.
https://www.argos.co.uk/search/pet-food/?clickOrigin=searchbar:home:term:pet+food
Local shops such as butchers and fruit and veg shops near me are now doing deliveries or collection. There might be local shops near you which do the same? It could be worth a Google or looking through the phone book if you have one and making some enquiries?
I hope this helps somewhat.
Best wishes
