Dissociation and Complex PTSD during Covid-19

Hi everyone.
I hope you’re all doing okay right now.
I admit I’m struggling. I have complex PTSD of which dissociation is one of the prominent symptoms. The world around us has changed so dramatically that I’m struggling to stay grounded, particularly in a world which everyone else feels is like a dream.
I’m dissociating much more frequently and more severely. Whole conversations are being lost, I’m losing time when I’m working (from home) and I’m not coping very well. None of the regular tools and skills I have are working at all.
Is anyone else in the same situation? Any wise words of advice?

Hi @Gingercorn
I'm sorry to hear you are struggling, this is a stressful and unusual time... I wonder whether you might find it useful to reach out to PODS, a small but really good charity which specialises in dissociation: https://www.pods-online.org.uk/
I suspect they will be best placed to help and support you right now.
In the meantime I can only suggest that you try and persist with using your grounding skills, are you finding absolutely nothing works or that some things work but they are not feeling as effective as before?
It sounds like you've already come through a lot if you have complex PTSD so it's just a question of finding your way through this tricky time, which like all difficult times will pass too...
I hope that helps.
Best wishes.
