Hi everyone. I’m Charlotte, my mums friend advised me to seek help on here as you lot have helped her out. I am currently on PIP till March 28th 2021, when should I expect to get a letter? also would it be a review? read forums on google saying it will be a lot shorter. I was given 5 years. thanks to everyone that can message me back ?

Someone I no is going for a tribunal but I’ve heard the PIP - DWP can call you up before the tribunal date and award it you. Is this true ? Can it happen. Obviously it won’t happen with everyone which I did say. thanks ?

Hi @charlotte441 - Anyone can claim PIP, it doesn't matter whether they have physical or mental health problems, or both. However, PIP is not about any diagnoses, rather how they impact on that person's daily life, etc. As the booklet you receive with your claim form says it's about 'How Your Disabiity Affects You.'
There are charities that can help people with mental health problems with their benefit claims such as :
https://www.richmondfellowship.org.uk/    Need to check if this is available in your area, &
It's difficult to know how much they may be able to help just now due to Covid-19, but worth a look.

Hi @charlotte441 and a warm welcome to the community. PIP is not based on someone diagnosis, but how it impacts their lives.
    PIP has 2 parts:
    • daily living component for people who need help or are struggling to take part in everyday life
    • mobility component for people who find it hard to get around
You may get the daily living part of PIP if you need help more than half of the time with things like:
    • preparing or eating food
    • washing, bathing and using the toilet
    • dressing and undressing
    • reading and communicating
    • managing your medicines or treatments
    • making decisions about money
    • engaging with other people
You may get the mobility part of PIP if you need help going out or moving around.
You can apply for PIP here.

Please do let us know how they get on. :)
