UC calling me next week

I have just started claiming UC and have hadmy first payment, the thing is I have just had a message on my account that they are going to call me next week as a courtesy call to new customers. Is this normal? I suffer from anxiety among other things and I have also started the process of claiming PIP. I am due there call coincidentally 2 hours earlier than the Uc call. Thanks in advance

Hi @suprasport and welcome to the community. This isn't usual protocol, but it could very well be something they've put in so that new claimants don't have to call them. Your PIP claim shouldn't have anything to do with it though.

Hi Adrian, thank you for the reply, I didnt think it seemed normal. Cannot imagine they just want to see if everything is ok, with the workload they must have at the moment.

Hi @suprasport. Please let us know how you get on when they call. It'll be interesting to know what it was regarding and if it's just their new protocol.

Hi @Adrian_Scope I sent them a message on my UC and I've just had a reply saying nothing to worry about and its just to see if we are getting on OK and if we need any help. So all good thank you
