Hello, i have not been on here for some time now but feel I need to talk to someone. With the lockdown I feel my depression has worsened and always think the worst. I do abit of reading and gardening but sometimes it creeps up on me and than just feel low again.

I am the same. Anxiety and depression are worse because of isolation. I Icelandic disorder with agoraphobia, and being forced to stay in means I must desensitize all over again in order to leave the house.
The "normies" feel the same way. My friends, who did not feel anxious and depressed before Civic now understand me.
I find forums emails and phone contacts help.
I hope writing here helps.

Thankyou, writing about it does help. It just seems I am locked in a bubble and can't get out. And feel the outside world is ready to eat me up, sounds very silly but makes me choke at times. I find it helps talking about it and listening to other people who are going through the same.

@alisha22 Hi..I feel exactly the same way and I'm really struggling in spite of my antidepressants. Having gone so long I'm now agoraphobic and have no confidence in going outdoors and am terrified at the thought of driving again. The tv news is only adding to everyone's problems and I'm starting to wonder if this is all being stage-managed propaganda in order to change our way of life permanently. Or am I being more paranoid than usual?
Things can only get better. Take care.
Best wishes.

I know the feeling with antidepressants, I have zoplcone to help me sleep as had to overcome other personal issues. This coronavirus has only added to the stress. I don't think anyone fully understands our situation and I feel im constantly at war with myself. I don't have much support apart from my elderly father who ive not seen for 4 months and my 17 year old daughter who is like a carer for me.

Hi @alisha22 I am sorry to heart that lockdown has increased your anxiety but can understand why.
So many people will have got that used to staying indoors and being on their own they will find it hard to go out again and some will find it hard to socialise with others.
Start by easy steps like you are doing talking to others even if it is on line. you are now able t see your father as you are a lone parent so can mix with one other household, I hope that brings you some comfort

Thanks for the kind support and yes hopefully will see my dad. I've had this depression and anxiety for a very long time and I feel it will stay with me forever but I think the key is how i choose to deal with it.
