This thread is a place for the community to share a daily positive affirmation.

What are positive affirmations?

Positive affirmations are short statements that aim to inspire people, help stop negative thoughts and build up self-esteem.

An example of a positive affirmation is:  “I am worth loving.  There is love all around me”

How do I use positive affirmations?

The Law of Attraction’s website tells us a good way of practicing positive affirmations is to:

  • Take three deep breaths, inhaling and exhaling to a count of 10.
  • Stand or sit in front of a mirror and look yourself in the eyes. Smile, if it feels natural.
  • Say your affirmation slowly and clearly.
  • Repeat the affirmation 3-5 times, really focusing on the meaning of each word.
  • Take another three deep breaths, allowing your body to absorb the positive feeling of the affirmation.

Let’s start with a positive affirmation for today:

“I have a lot to offer"

Ooooh thank you @Tori_Scope! And thank you for creating it @Cher_Scope - I've been painting the borders of my page today so it should be finished tomorrow! xD

Here's one from me: I am enough

One I quite like when I'm feeling really unmotivated or overwhelmed is: I can do anything for two minutes.

Does the thought of tidying my whole room feel totally overwhelming? Yes. Can I spend 2 minutes tidying my room? Yes. Will I carry on after those 2 minutes after I realise it's not all that bad? Probably. If not, I've tidied for 2 minutes longer than I would have done!

It's from a short poem by Erin Hanson, written when she was just 18:
'There is freedom waiting for you,
On the breezes of the sky,
And you ask 'What if I fall?'
    Oh but my darling,
    What if you fly?'
Really rather beautiful, thank you @Chloe_Scope :)
