Good afternoon all, I have a dilemma , my son is 20 with CP , we have been keeping him at home , he goes to residential college, due to Covid. I’m having trouble sending him back , fear is stopping me , what should I do ? Are any of you in the same position? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi @Tree79 welcome in board
What are you fearful of in sending him back ? Is it your fear or his
I understand your apprehension I felt lost after my son went back to school in sept and that wasnt boarding either
It may be best in the long run for his development and experience1 -
Hello @Tree79 and a very warm welcome to the community
Have you been in touch with the college to discuss your concerns? They might be able to put your mind at ease about the situation.0 -
Mine , Covid, they are all in full PPE , the staff . He doesn’t want to do any work with me, either, he’s missing out , I know. Thanks for responding,0

I have been in touch with the college, they are in full PPE etc . I just feel so guilty, they have suggested he goes back next week, last before Christmas break . Thing is he can’t stay off indefinitely. Thanks0

Hi @Tree79
Good to meet you. What has your son said that he would like to do? Does your son have any other conditions other than CP?0 -
He is a wheelchair user , has gastro button. He is now going back next week, for the last week before Christmas, he will not really cooperate with work/ physio with me , he needs to be at College. Thanks for your reply0

Sounds as though your son has made his decision. Have you been given an opportunity to read the colleges' Covid procedures?0
