Weight gain since being disabled

Hi every one I used to be a size 12/14 and weighed 12 stone now I weigh just over 16 stone and I’m like a size 18/20 . My medication is a huge reason to my massive weight gain . I have such a hunger I never had before plus I don’t get any exercise because of my illness . I know there must be other people like my self who have had a weight gain due to disability I put all this weight on since being on quatiapine so since feb this year .
I recently down loaded a app called nutra check where I can monitor how many Calories are in what I’m eating so has my partner so he can help me monitor what I eat as I mainly eat snacks he prepares my main meals as I can’t prepare meals I snack so I will put snacks into Daily calorie Snack boxes to monitor what I’m eating . My memory isn’t so good so I will need help so my partner will help me with it . I’m determined to loose some weight and manage my weight. I was wondering if any one else has any weight loss ideas . As going to a gym is not some thing I can do And I have this massive hunger for snacks .
Who else has found a increase in weight since having a disability ?

I've been on steroids for 16 years and in that time I have put on 8st... I'm barely mobile and in a lot of pain so I can't exercise. I don't overeat as I can't prepare any meals myself.
I'm thinking of trying meal replacement drinks for a while.
Also, my son lost three st with Slimming World and highly recommends it. Though he is able to exercise as well...
Good luck with your plans.
i hope I can loose 6 stone my goal weight is 13 stone to start with .
The only time I get weighed is at the hospital or doctors as we haven't had scales in the house since or daughter became so anorexic at the age of 17 that we almost lost her, her weight went down to 5 stone and her organs were starting to fail, luckily the NHS agreed to pay £30,000 for a 10 week stay in a specialist private hospital which saved her life. She is now a happy healthy and successful 32 year old.
My weight has gone up and down over the years - between about 12 stone (a little bit underweight) and 21 stone (very overweight). Currently I am overweight.
I did go through a phase where I couldn’t eat due to my issues and lost over 25% of my body weight in a few months. I still have trouble preparing and eating proper meals and like you I now eat a lot of snacks.
I am overweight at the moment. I don’t know whether any of the medication I am on is making me more hungry but I often eat snacks in the evening as I feel that I need a reward for getting through the day. I don’t get much enjoyment out of the days themselves and feel like I need a little bit of pleasure at the end of the day if that makes sense.
It’s don’t think it is entirely true that exercise doesn’t help but it is correct that eating less calories is the more important part of weight loss and you can lose weight without doing any exercise. A doctor told me that weight loss comes from about 80% eating less and 20% exercise.
