Scam calls alert

Just a heads up warning 

I keep getting calls from different mobile numbers they all start with the first 8 numbers of my own mobile number 

It is a recorded message saying your national insurance number has been compromised and to press 1 to follow the instructions 

Ii have looked into this and it is a scam 

Dont press 1 hang up and block the number

    @janer1967.i am lucky on my phone it tells me if its a possible scam call so I dont answer it

    I had one yesterday saying that people were on their way to arrest me due to tax fraud or something like that. Apparently it's a popular one going around.

    It's not only women @MrAllen1976 men like ladies in uniform too eg nurses , waitress and so on

    I have a family member who works for the police and they once got a scam call on their work phone when they were at work!!! They went along with it at first and kept them on the line pretending to be interested then when asked for their address gave their address as xxxxx police station. Sadly no funny reactions they were just cut off but I like to think the scammer got a bit of a shock and then was worried about their line being traced or something.

    I've only ever had one scam call on my landline...someone rang and said "hello, its the bank"
    "Oh, which bank? " I asked, they hung up...amateurs lol

    @Cress I laugh at the ones who say hi  say what they git to say and what is your name I say you tell me lol abd the phone goes down

    Someone I knew used to ask them to hold on for a minute, then he’d put the radio next to the phone and just carry on with his day! ? serves them right.

    I had a call on my mobile yesterday same thing i recorded it too always record calls. If u listen to itvit says officer who ever. If j am right yhe jnland revenue don't have officers. Its a us accent too. If the ir really wanted to talk to us they would ring us .

    The one I got was an automated voice, I just hung up after a few seconds because I gathered what was happening.

        Iv'e had the we spoke to your husband earlier in the week.....hmm got rid of him years ago and I live alone so who was it again you spoke to  :D

    Theres another big one doing the rounds at the moment connected to DPD parcel couriers. They are phoning or emailing people saying that they are from DPD and there is a parcel for your address but theres a surcharge needed - normally a small amount like a £1 before they can deliver it. Dont pay it its a scam and they are making thousands off it
