@lisathomas50 it's not the game to be in anymore, it's for the big boys/chains now, the days of the friendly local will soon be history1

Thing that winds me up about chain Pubs such as Wetherspoons, is if you go in for a meal and have a specific request with a meal, for instance, "Scampi and chips, NO Peas or Salad", 9 times out of 10 the plate comes back full of peas and salad because they think the plate looks empty without it! Annoying and shouldn't happen IMHO.
Also, in July 2019 I was in the Rawson Spring in Hillsborough one tea time, I ordered a meal, paid by card, the next day Dad gets a phone call from the Bank, some fool had diddled my card to the tune of £34 worth of Burgers from Wendy's, following a Google search I discovered that Wendy's, a US based Burger chain don't even trade in the flippin' UK!

If they own them they might survive, if they're paying astronomical rents to to one of those shark companys who bought loads in the gov brewery sell off and tied to them for beer as well they've no chance, I've a few mates who came badly unstuck well before lockdowns etc.1

Ahhh I see the golden elixir. I'm not a lager lass but I am missing sitting in the pub with my mates having a laugh. My heart goes out to all the landlords struggle to stay afloat, it's just a very sad situation1
