Hi,
I live in Swansea, and I’m divorced. I’m not from here and don’t know any people or parents of children who have autism. My son is 6 and has autism. He was non verbal but because he’s been in a special school they where able to teach him to pecs.

I’m just wondering if there are any other parents in Swansea in the same situation? Before Covid I did go to some of the national autistic society events but obviously these have stopped now and won’t be resuming for sometime.
Thanks
Bec

Hello and welcome to the community @becrob21 I'm glad you've found us, as I imagine that perhaps you feel a little isolated?
I'd like to direct you towards our Parents Connect service, which is a 6-week support programme for parents and carers of young disabled people. Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, sessions will be run online until further notice.
Do you know if the National Autistic Society (NAS) are running any online events in the meantime? If not, they do run a number of other remote services, such as a parent to parent emotional support helpline.
I also found this website, called The Autism Directory, which seems to have a number of services in Wales. Here is a link to their upcoming events.
