Morning, how's your day going so far?

Today my Mum had to go to hospital and while she was driving on a narrow road someone clipped her door mirror.
She has a tiny car and was definitely on her own side of the road so the other car must have been taking up too much room.
Of course they didn't stop so she has to pay for it to be fixed out of her own pocket.
How hard is it to drive on your own side of the road?
At least it's not an electric folding mirror as they are expensive to replace.0 -
Oh gosh @66Mustang at least it's fixable0
-
@Sandy_123 yes indeed, hopefully an easy fix
@Teddybear12 yes she's fine, she was mostly worried that my Dad would be annoyed about it but he's fine as well
Thanks1 -
@Ada
Thanks for the concern.
Yes driving does take some confidence. I only drive with someone with me, would not be able to entertain the idea of doing it on my own.
I can understand not driving for the cost alone, it's expensive. I think I am fortunate financially because I am living at home so I can afford to run my car, just about. If I ever was to live alone I think I'd have to do without a car.
Just an idea but would your husband ever give up the drink if it meant you could get a car with the money? Sorry if I'm speaking out of turn here but it's just an idea!0 -
@Ada well done I'm so proud of you nothing stopping you now
@66Mustang sorry about your mum's incident so frustrating2 -
@Ada oh I see, I'm sorry to hear about that, I have had issues with alcohol myself, not diagnosed alcoholism just liked a heavy drink, is there no support available for him?
@janer1967 yes very annoying, but could have been worse I guess

Im sat down the beach eating sarnyes just observing people, being a regular beach visitor .why is the first thing people do is take a picture of the beach, then young or old there is that run and jump on to the sand followed by the hipnopic put your hands into the sand then run ,walk , hobble as fast as possible to the sea, take pictures of sea with them straining to be in the shoot , then collapse down on to the sand chucking sand here there and everywhere with that look of total satisfaction.then get out the buckets and spades and start building sand castles again no age barriers. And at the end of the stay that walk back with dragging of feet, head down, legs seem heavy and that last look at the glimmering sand before the dejection of stepping up on to the prom and off home . why do some people do that ??0

@ada I'm glad being here gave you the encouragement to go and hope it's encouraged you to keep up with appts
I'm hopefully not going to offend you but
Your hubby may not claim benefits in his own right but you are feeding him etc so in essence he is getting your benefits
You really are a Saint and need to consider your needs as well and the strain the financial situation puts on you and start claiming what yog ate both eligible for2 -
Yes I am down the beach Ada.1

Father in laws visit was okay bless him, looking more and more tired now, it's upsetting when we leave him as he gets upset, at least it's nice he still has the feelings for us, even if we do have to remind him who we are. But hey ho can't get sad it's good for all the family knowing he is being well looked after. x0 -
