Yes @66Mustang,I'm staining them a sort of mahogany colour.Once I've finished the section I'm sanding now I'll stain them before moving onto another section.

My original plan was to sand everything first but it's soul destroying stuff.

@Teigr Yeah it helps sometimes to break it up a little bit. I was going to paint my room the same colour as before but found that soul-destroying so that contributed to me choosing a different colour, so at least it felt like I was making progress when I could see the new colour on the walls.

We're going to paint the outside of the house in a couple of weeks' time @66Mustang,I'm having trouble deciding on a colour.

I love decorating @Sandy_123,I wish the carpenter would get his bum into gear so that I can get on with the bedroom.

I'm leaning towards green at the moment @66Mustang,it's been a sort of mushroom colour for the last eight years and I'm fed up with it.
The colour I really like is called 'Jitterbug'.

My mother in law used to do all her own decorating, and that’s what she said she enjoyed it and it was therapeutic.
She did have a shandy or 2 while doing it she said that made it all the more fun. 😂

I used to have to decorate with my daughter hanging off my neck when she was little,I  once papered a ceiling with her wrapped around my knees.



That wasn't very therapeutic.

Having 5 minutes with a coffee, been tidying up etc. Got cleaning  stuff all over the shower doing it's thing. Can't do laundry as rain forecast

I'm flaked out with a coffee @Sandy_123,I've done the washing but it's raining so I've left it in the machine.

The only other thing I've managed today is making a start on a Captain America/Iron Man cake.
