Just been for a drive in the rain.

I prefer driving in the clear weather but a drive in the rain is better than no drive at all

ive had a really bad past few days. i dont have a curently diagnosed mental illness but i have been going doen alongside the road of moderate depresion again because im stuck inside my tiny lounge 24/7. one of my staff said to my social worker i shoud be put on more anti depresents (they had never heard of STOMP?) thankfuly my social workerer has said its because of not getting out and doing things im like this, not an illness.

none of my support staff are drivers so i cant use my motability car and ive had to get my social worker out to sign off a travel pass so i can use door to door acesible minibus.i wanted to go to a boccia club run by my old special olympics trainer but i live just over 1 mile over the limit of where the bus woud take me.

i actualy coud say a lot worse thats happened but ill stop now.

positive things today- pete tong is playing right now on radio 1 dance, the tunes he picks alwaays make me happy.
-i am also happy becase i got out the house for the first time in three weeks? i went to my parens home but that was my usual routine.

Evening all haven't had the best of weeks , started with a big lump appearing on my lower back which after seeing the docs found out it was an infected heat spot probably from the last time I was down the river fishing. The worst thing was it popped late last Friday night never seen such smelly **** dribble down my leg and continue through to Saturday afternoon. Had to wash it every hour and slap some cream on it. Finally the worst of the **** started stopping Monday. Never felt so much pain in my back it was very sensitive and stung like hell. Still yellow **** is coming out but small amount at a time. Was lying on my belly till Tuesday could not even lay a light blanket over my back. Now I have a fair size hole in my back looks like I've been shot and the skins looks like a popped balloon I'm in lock down as the doc does not want me to go out anywhere till my back heals up more. Good news my back does not smell like smelly old cheese any more and using a steps and a mirror can just about put a large plaster on my wound and it's raining so I'm not missing the weather, found a way to sit down on the edge of a chair and it's comfortable ish and been able to now sleep in bed but on side or on front but if I roll over I wake immediately in pain. So stuck indoors for a while, happy weekend everyone 😄😄😄😄😄.

Hello everyone, I have had a nice day today. I went for a drive to pick up some things from a shop, even though it was raining I had a nice drive. Interestingly my car's MPG is 40 in the rain, it's usually about 36, presumably because I have to drive more smoothly in the rain and can't put my foot down as much.

Hi @CATP your post seems to have gotten missed. I hope you manage to see some improvements soon. I like how the social worker says the depression is due to a deterioration in lifestyle i.e. not getting out as much, rather than recommending you to go on pills. It means they want you to get better rather than just put a plaster over it. I always thought antidepressants were like painkillers i.e. they don't take the issue away they just stop the mental "pain", better in my view to deal with what's causing the issue.

    @CATP
Hi so sorry I missed your post earlier.I hope you’re able to get out and about more as it certainly helps lift your mood.
And as @66Mustang said it’s good your social worker is understanding why you could be feeling down.
So it’ll be nice to see you around the forum and I hope you have a lovely weekend.

    Take care ❤️

    hi @66@66Mustang thanks!
i have very complex classic autism and unless its typing/AAC i dont show my emotions or comunicate them to other people in the same way they may do to other people.ive spent years miserable suffering from a lot of past trauma as i coudnt comunicate how low i felt, and even when i type it people dont believe me because i dont show the noises or body movements with them.
sorry ive felt even more awful today as ive not been able to answer people on different threads all the time.i struggle with back-forth comunication so it takes a day or two to compile a post.

i end up punching my head constantly every day (im prescribed padded helmets), i  bite myself and i have very acute echolalia. when i finaly get out of this hole, im going to whistle blow on the staff, unfortunatly trying to do it beforehand has led to me being targeted by staff.

the tons of medications im on like 10mg of diazepam a day keep me calmed down to other people as im classed as having severe challenging behaviors to but inside me my mind is so painful right now.
i had my spine broken and spinal nerves damaged by the amount of restraining carried out on me and i will always require the use of wheelchairs,im so sick of the pain 24/7 and because of my epilepsy severity my neurologist doesnt want to give me stronger meds than what im on because they lower seizure threshold.
my support staff kept missing my apointments with him due to lack of support staff who can drivee my motability car,ive been used as the excuse for 'refusing to attend apointment' or 'i was to anxious to go', so i got removed off the list and im without any support for my pain.
he has spoke to an ex staff of mine though and said he will have me back if i atend apointments, i woud do but this care company (and its a joke to even call them care) will just tell them im choosing to not go instead of "the driving staff we do have are to busy to take him to an appointment".
i feel broken. i need to get out of here and away from thhis staff team.

    -Re.the social worker.
i dont know if its common across the board in all social services teams but the comunity learning disability team im under is very anti medication-they do STOMP training (from very murky memory,it means stop the over medicating of people with learning disability and/or autism.)

@CATP thanks for explaining, yeah I understand taking a while to reply, sometimes I do as well. Sorry to hear about all that, it sounds really awful, I hope you manage to escape from it in due time. I know what you mean about staff giving (or not giving) you medicine for their own benefit, happened to me in the past but not as badly obviously. Sorry I don't have more advice just hope you manage to improve soon, it sounds like you have a plan, good luck.
