Morning, how's your day going so far?

I went into family history hoping to find something interesting and impressive like what @Sandy_123 found but found much the same as you @Rosie_Scope, all farm labourers and miners. I decided that I was looking for the wrong thing by hoping for something impressive and that by simply taking an interest in their "normal" lives I was honouring my ancestors.0

@Sandy_123

-
It is I've got so much to do on there @66Mustang some information I've had from other people's information, I need to start messaging them as may be living relatives1
-
I think I will go my walk just now before my dinner.
@Sandy_123I will look into it, you never know what you can find out.
@66Mustang

When researching ancestry, it is great to look at newspaper archives if you can
My ancestors are also miners, farmers, laborer's...etc and some liked a drink. And ended up in the paper for all sorts of trouble 😂1 -
@Hannah_Scope that reminds me one of my (quite recent, relatively) ancestors was a miner and had one eye...apparently he found it funny to release the mine cart and someone lost a hand because of it...in exchange he took a lantern smashed across his head and lost an eye...no further action taken by either side - it was considered that justice had been done different times0
-
Not looked at the news papers @Hannah_Scope0
-
@66Mustang That's crazy! 😲 Do you know if that made the paper?!
@Sandy_123 You can get newspapers as part of some of the ancestry page subscriptions. But other's let you purchase as you go, which is handy!0 -
@Hannah_Scope no idea if it made a paper, will have to check!
I think "an eye for an eye" justice (sort of literally in this case!) was quite common in those days though, wouldn't surprise me if it was just part of life!!!0 -
@66Mustang I wouldn't be surprised from that kind of work either. Many wouldn't have the money to go through the courts.1

I've finished decorating the living room!
Muller Crunch Corners for everyone!!2 -
@Teigr

@66Mustang

It's been a nightmare,I've honestly lost the will to live.
